Manuel Tire Supply

History

Manuel Tire Supply was established in 1948, 2 years after the Philippines had acquired independence from Japan. Entrepreneur Francisco dela Cruz and his  wife Leonila dela Cruz decided to venture on selling tires to local market.

The company’s course on retailing tires has not been an easy path. In 1951, global tire manufacturers like BF Goodrich, Firestone and Goodyear started manufacturing tires locally. The impact was so huge that the company was forced to engaged into other forms of business, like in the field of public transportation.

In 1960,  the company acquired a new location and started selling tires again to the market. With the leadership of Ms. Leonila dela Cruz,  the business went too well hence Manuel Tire Supply was formed in 1961. With her great skills  and strong determination to succeed, it was just a matter of time when Manuel Tire Supply became a prominent name in the tire industry.

In 1967, the company started importing tires from Japan. Manuel Tire Supply was one of the nine exclusive importers licensed to acquire tires from different countries.

By 1976, four branches were established to different parts of Metro Manila:

  • Branch 1: EM Dela Cruz Trading  located at Tomas Mapua Sta. Cruz Manila
  • Branch 2: Manuel Tire Supply located at Antipolo Sta.Cruz Manila
  • Branch 3: Manuel Tire Supply located at Abad Santos
  • Branch 4: Manuel Enterprises located at Edsa Caloocan

In 1986, during the reign of former President Ferdinand Marcos, second hand importation was banned. Despite the circumstances, Manuel Tire Supply still managed to strive in the industry. Concentrating mainly on selling of truck and industrial tires, the company had established good business relationships with existing clients. These were integral factors of the company’s success.

In 1986, the company was able to explore other opportunities and expanded to other business ventures such as:

  • Real estate properties
  • 7C Marble Corporation
  • Commercial Building located at Capulong corner Juan Luna
  • Commercial Building located at Tomas Mapua Blumentritt
  • Mango Farms
  • Rice Farms

To date, Manuel Tire Supply has established it’s market share in the tire industry and continually expanding their list of additional services like distribution of batteries and oil lubricants
